The Skin
That Breathes

2025 MIDSUMMER
Deep within the Copper Canyon of northern Mexico, time flows in a language of its own. Here, the last of North America’s indigenous Tarahumara people—also known as the Rarámuri, or "The Running Tribe"—continue their centuries-old traditions. Renowned for their ability to run hundreds of miles across rugged mountain terrain, some still reside in caves and along sheer cliffs, embodying an unparalleled connection to nature.

To the Tarahumara, nature is a manifestation of the divine. The sun and moon are creators of the universe, while stars, mountains, rivers, and plants hold sacred significance. Their way of life is a testament to an ancient wisdom—one that does not seek to conquer nature but instead breathes in harmony with it.
Inspired by the Tarahumara, UPPERVOID 2025 MIDSUMMER introduces a collection designed to emulate breathable, second-skin performance wear tailored for trail running, trekking, and daily wear.

POWER DRY™
Ultra-Light Moisture-Wicking Fabric
Developed by Malden Mills, POLARTEC® is the gold standard in fleece. POWER DRY™, its first skin-contact fabric, utilizes a dual-component knit structure that accelerates moisture transfer away from the skin for superior sweat management. This fabric dries twice as fast as cotton and is widely adopted by renowned outdoor brands both domestically and internationally, and has also been used by the U.S. military and in rescue operations — proving its reliability in extreme environments.

NASA OUTLAST®
Phase-Change Temperature
Regulation
Developed by NASA and bearing the “Certified Space Technology” mark, this phase-change material offers bi-directional thermal regulation, stabilizing drastic temperature fluctuations while managing heat and moisture on the skin’s surface. It can reduce perspiration by up to 48%, creating an optimal personal microclimate.

Merino Wool Blend
A fusion of Australian Merino wool, COOLMAX® cooling yarns, and nylon, this fabric offers natural thermoregulation, moisture-wicking, and superior comfort.

The level of human perspiration is influenced by physiological structure, exercise intensity, and environmental conditions. By studying sweat patterns during physical activity and mapping the distribution of sweat glands, our designers developed the upgraded GLANDEN™ Ergonomic Sweat Mapping System. This system accurately aligns with high-sweat zones, using zoned construction and strategic material combinations to effectively absorb moisture and enhance ventilation where it’s needed most.
GLANDEN™
Ergonomic Sweat Mapping
The human body contains approximately 2 to 5 million sweat glands. Research shows that the highest concentration of perspiration occurs in the central torso and back, while the limbs tend to sweat less. For women, sports bra designs may contribute to increased perspiration in the chest area. Additionally, regions such as the head, underarms, and the base of the neck also produce significant sweat, but are often overlooked due to the difficulty of measurement.

ERGO-WEAVE™
Bionic Zoned Weaving
Building on the GLAN DEN™ Ergonomic Sweat Mapping System, this approach precisely targets sweat gland and muscle distribution across different body zones. By intelligently leveraging the distinct properties of various materials, it offers specialized zonal ventilation pathways and muscular support, enhancing both moisture management and performance comfort.
