The nomadic herders of the plateau often have to battle harsh weather conditions and fierce wild animals to protect their cattle and sheep. When their flocks get scattered, they gallop on horseback, leaning down to lift sheep weighing over a hundred pounds onto their saddles and carry them back to the herd. Over time, this skill evolved into the sport of Buzkashi (goat grabbing competition).
